1. Are you a licensed Plumber & Gasfitter?

A & C Plumbing is a member of the Master Plumbers’ Assocation (MPA) and every A & C Plumbing tradesperson is a registered plumber and gasfitter.

2. Are you insured?

A & C Plumbing holds Public Liability Insurance and Business Insurance to the value of $10,000,000.00. This protects you and your property against any accidental damage.

3. Can you guarantee your work?

All work carried out by A & C Plumbing employees and contractors is guaranteed and covers workmanship for 6 years as per Plumbing Industry Commission certificates.

4. Can you give me a call prior to your arrival?

Yes, A & C Plumbing will always give you a reminder call for confirmation, half an hour to 1 hour prior to our arrival.

5. Where is my main water valve in case I need to turn my water off?

In most cases, your water meter is generally located at the front of your property, just inside the boundary and is usually in line with the front garden tap. If this is not the case, you can contact your appropriate water corporation to help you locate it. PLEASE NOTE: Be sure to locate and mark the main water valve before you need it. That way, you will be able to find and close it quickly should a water leak occur.

6. Are Continuous Flow Hot Water Systems compatible with all taps and shower heads?

They are compatible with most taps but some flickmixer taps have a flow rate that is below the minimum required for operation.

7. How do I stop my cistern water leaking into the toilet bowl?

Usually by replacing the inlet valve or outlet valve rubber to the cistern or a combination of the two. This is a common maintenance problem that A & C Plumbing can sort out immediately at a reasonable cost.

8. How do I fix my leaking tap?

Unfortunately, a leaking tap cannot usually be fixed just by replacing the jumper valve washer. There is also an O’ring that would need to be replaced and the brass body inside the wall or below the sink that the spindle sits in needs to be machined (re-seated). All working parts need to be cleaned and lubricated and the system needs to be flushed correctly upon completion. Our company is stocked with all the right parts and equipment to ensure that your taps will not leak again.

9. Why does my sink take a long time to drain?

The kitchen sink has a substantial amount of fat and grease that runs down it that is washed off your pots, pans and plates etc. This could cause a build up in your pipe and slow your drain. This could also happen at your basin sink and shower drain from a build up of hair / soap. A & C Plumbing offers several drain solutions to resolve all your drainage issues.

10. Would it cost me much to have my toilets and taps replaced?

It all depends on what you like and your budget. A & C Plumbing can supply and install quality chrome tapware, baths and toilets at base rates right through to the more expensive range.

11. Does A & C Plumbing do gas installations?

Yes, we do every type of gas installation that you require.

12. Our toilet is blocked, what do we do?

Contact A & C Plumbing immediately to carry out a full assessment and location and clearing of blockage including toilets, sinks, showers, baths, basins and main sewer drain.

13. What can we do about our roof leak?

Contact A & C Plumbing and our experienced staff will check source of water entry and access roof and carry out the necessary repairs. A & C Plumbing is competent in repairs to all types of roofing – corrugated iron, decking, tiles and slate.

14. Does A & C Plumbing do gas maintenance and repairs to appliances?

Yes, we carry out an extensive service in this department including space heaters, wall furnaces, central heating and ducted units, hot water services, ovens and hot plates.

15. We have no hot water, can you help us?

Yes, we have the expertise to diagnose your hot water problem and rectify. If unit is beyond repair, we carry out full installation of all types of gas/electric hot water units
